Programming-Pool Romania to strengthen its ties and assistance to local Universities

Programming-Pool Romania, is a European leader in the Hospitality Software Industry, collaborating with nearly all the other leading manufacturers world-wide, including, Micros INC. (US), Pegasus (US), Amadeus (ES), Worldspan (US), Galileo (US), Sabre (US), Perot Systems (US), Expedia (US), Booking.com (ES), to name but a few.

"I am very proud indeed of what the PPR team here in Baia Mare has achieved, five years ago, when I said that Romania would play an extremely important role in IT on the European continent no one really took me seriously, thankfully history has proven me right.

To continue this, our future depends on a continuous stream of motivated intelligent Informatics students, whether here in Baia Mare, Cluj-Napoca, (Romania) or in Chisinau (Moldova) where PPR currently has three development centres.

To further stimulate students and help the University PPR will start to offer Scholarships to students, who wish to attend the University to study Informatics as well as offering placements for practical experience in our three development centres.

Our mutual major goal is to make sure that when students leave the University they are already prepared for the next steps, in their careers.
This is commonplace in the West and I am very happy that we can start this practice here in Romania together with the "North University" in Baia Mare Romania.

When Dr. Petrica Pop, Chair head of Informatics and applied Mathematics, from the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Sciences, North University Baia Mare, approached PPR and asked how we thought we could collaborate to stimulate more students to attend this faculty, and then make sure that the syllabus was directed more to the actual "market requirements" we were elated.

We are extremely enthusiastic about the possibility to help the "budding" Romanian programmers of the future".
