An application which helps the travel and tourism industry support reservation through the Internet. It helps consumers to book flights, hotels, holiday packages, insurance and other services online.

Internet Distribution System (IDS)
A software application used as a collection of online reservation systems and/or travel portals, specialized in Internet-related services such as online travel marketing.

Inventory
Lists hotel rooms and their current status (released, sold, open, closed)

What's in a word?

Keeping up to date with the latest terminology can be tricky at the best of times. With all the abbreviations and catch-phrases, new word concoctions and descriptors that have taken root in modern day parlance, maintaining a “Glossary of Terms” that keeps pace with technological developments can be a risky business!
